angel guidance

For Eleven Years, We've Been Finding the Light Together

On May 28, 2026, Angel Angles celebrates its 11th anniversary.

As I sit down to write these words, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. Not because of a business milestone, but because of the countless connections, conversations, prayers, affirmations, classes, books, card readings, and moments of encouragement we have shared together over the years.

In many ways, Angel Angles was born from a simple desire: to offer people a heavenly slant in their day.

The story behind the name still makes me smile.

People often confuse the words "angel" and "angle," but when I was creating my business, I felt a gentle nudge from the angels to use the name Angel Angles. The message was clear. Life presents us with many angles from which to view our experiences. What if we chose a more loving angle? A more hopeful angle? A more peaceful angle?

What if we looked at life's challenges through the eyes of possibility, gratitude, and grace?

That simple idea became the foundation of Angel Angles.

When I launched the business in 2015, I was excited, inspired, and admittedly a little scared. In fact, during that first year, I was afraid to put my name on my work. I hid behind the business name and quietly shared messages of encouragement, inspiration, and hope.

I worried about what others might think.

Would people understand my angelic perspective? Would they connect with the messages I felt called to share? Would they think I was qualified enough to do this work?

For a year, those fears kept me in the background.

Then in 2016, I got brave.

I began identifying myself as the person behind Angel Angles and sharing my work more openly. Looking back, that step was less about self-promotion and more about authenticity. I realized that if I wanted to encourage others to embrace who they truly are, I needed to do the same.

That decision opened doors I never could have imagined.

Over the years, Angel Angles has grown into a space where people can pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves. Through blog posts, newsletters (Love Letters), books, social media messages, angel card readings, classes, workshops, and conversations, my intention has always been the same: to help people feel a little more supported, hopeful, and loved.

Writing has been one of the greatest gifts of this journey.

I have always loved putting pen to paper. There is something sacred about allowing words to flow from the heart. Today, I continue to share that love of writing as a core blogger for The Wellness Universe, where I write my monthly Angel Affirmations. What began as a simple offering has become one of the most popular blog series on the site.

Every month, I create affirmations designed to help readers begin each day with greater peace, self-compassion, and trust. I am continually touched by the messages from people who print them, journal with them, save them, or return to them whenever they need encouragement.

That love of writing has expanded into a variety of resources designed to inspire, encourage, and support others on their journeys.

One of my greatest joys has been creating the On a Path of Joy book series, which now includes four volumes featuring uplifting messages paired with beautiful nature photography. I also authored Drenched in Love, a devotional journal created to help readers deepen their connection with themselves, the Divine, and the love that surrounds them each day.

In addition, I have had the privilege of collaborating with fellow authors in more than a dozen inspirational book projects, sharing stories, insights, and tools for healing, hope, resilience, gratitude, and personal growth. Each project has reinforced my belief that our stories have the power to encourage and uplift one another.

The desire to create meaningful experiences has also led me to develop four inspirational angel card decks over the years. Most recently, I was delighted to introduce Snippets of Self-Care during SoulTreat this past April. This 52-card deck was lovingly created to offer gentle reminders, practical self-care strategies, and words of encouragement that people can return to whenever they need support, comfort, or inspiration. Today, it is available through my website and is already finding its way into the hands and hearts of people seeking a little extra encouragement.

Whether through a book, a journal, a card deck, a class, or a simple social media post, my goal remains the same: to provide tools that help people nurture their well-being, embrace self-compassion, and remember that they are worthy of the same love and care they so freely give to others.

But Angel Angles has never been only about words on a page.

It is about creating experiences that help people remember who they are.

Today, I teach classes on sacred self-care and angelic practices that help participants slow down, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and nurture their well-being. Whether we are exploring gratitude, journaling, self-care, affirmations, visualization, or angelic guidance, my hope is that people leave feeling more grounded, empowered, and connected to themselves.

One of the greatest honors of my journey occurred this past April when I had the privilege of facilitating the Enchanted Gratitude Circle during SoulTreat at the world-renowned Art of Living Retreat Center.

Surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and an extraordinary community of heartfelt souls, I witnessed the transformative power of gratitude. Together, we celebrated ourselves, honored our journeys, and embraced the magic that happens when we intentionally focus on what is good, beautiful, and possible.

It was an experience I will carry in my heart for years to come.

Gratitude has long been one of the cornerstones of my work. Each November, I host a daily gratitude journey inside the Angel Angles Angel Circle of Gratitude. What began as a simple invitation to focus on blessings has become a cherished tradition for many participants. Day by day, we practice noticing the good, celebrating small moments, and appreciating the gifts that often go unseen.

Those practices matter.

They remind us that joy can coexist with challenge, that hope can exist alongside uncertainty, and that there is always something worth celebrating.

One of the things I am most grateful for is that Angel Angles has remained a consistent part of my life for eleven years. Through seasons of growth, change, and transformation, I have continued this soul work with only one brief pause.

In 2019, I stepped away for a few months while navigating treatment and recovery as a pancreatic cancer survivor.

That experience changed me profoundly.

It deepened my appreciation for life, strengthened my faith, and reinforced the importance of self-care, gratitude, and community support. While my voice grew quieter during that season, the mission of Angel Angles never left my heart. When I returned, I did so with an even greater understanding of how precious each day truly is.

Perhaps that is why this anniversary feels less like a business celebration and more like a collective celebration.

Because this journey has never been about me.

It is about the woman who reads an affirmation before starting her day.

It is about the caregiver who finds a moment of peace in the middle of a difficult season.

It is about the person navigating grief who discovers a message that reminds them they are not alone.

It is about the journal writer seeking clarity.

It is about the person longing to practice better self-care.

It is about the seeker looking for a deeper spiritual connection.

It is about the individual who simply needs a gentle reminder that they are loved.

My hope has always been that Angel Angles serves as a soft place to land.

A place where you can exhale.

A place where you can feel encouraged rather than judged.

A place where you can reconnect with your spirit, embrace self-care, and remember your worth.

If over these past eleven years a message, affirmation, class, book, journal, card deck, prayer, blog post, or moment of connection has helped you feel even a little more hopeful, peaceful, inspired, or loved, then Angel Angles has fulfilled its purpose.

As I celebrate this milestone, my gratitude extends to each and every one of you who has been part of the journey.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for believing.

Thank you for allowing me to offer a heavenly slant on life's journey.

And now I would love to hear from you.

How has Angel Angles touched your life over the years?

Was it an affirmation that arrived at just the right moment? A class that shifted your perspective? A blog post, book, angel card, gratitude journey, or message that helped you through a challenging season?

Please share your memories, reflections, or experiences in the comments. Your stories are part of this journey, too, and I would be honored to celebrate them with you.

Together, for eleven years, we've been finding the light.

Here's to the next chapter of love, joy, peace, gratitude, and heavenly perspectives.

Blessings of love, joy, and peace,

How to Manage a New Pet and a Business without Feeling Overwhelmed Guest Blog by Cindy Aldridge

Pet and Business Guest Blog pic.png

So, you’re starting a new business and you just welcomed a new furkid to your life. Those are two exciting and major life changes! If you’re feeling a little anxious about taking such big steps at the same time, you really don’t have to feel that way. That’s because balancing life as a pet parent and business owner is pretty simple when you have the right tricks up your sleeves.

To make the most of these two blessings, check out these tips from Angel Angles. (Janette’s beloved rescue dog Spike is featured in the blog thumbnail.)

Don’t Try to Do It All on Your Own

Whew, you definitely are going to have a lot on your plate! The secret to not getting overwhelmed is pretty simple though. You just need to get comfortable asking for help! That help could come from family members who can help look after your pet during work hours.

If family or friends aren’t available, you can always budget for a dog walker or pet sitter to keep your new furbuddy company while you’re busy building your business. There are helpful apps that make finding the right caretaker a snap, and then you’ll have some peace of mind.

On the subject of apps, if you need an app built for your new business, you could also outsource this task to freelancers. Not only will this free up more time than you can spend bonding with your pet, but it will also help ensure a more user-friendly and polished final result. If you need even more help, you can find freelance virtual assistants, graphic designers and so much more.

Do Make Time for Your New Companion

Animals need time to feel safe and comfortable in their new home, and you will need this time to get to know your new best friend. You can make the most of this time by creating consistent routines and safe spaces in your home, both of which will help your pet thrive. Then, you won’t feel like your schedule is being overrun by your pet and business.

One way to help your dog feel right at home is to crate train. If you’ve never used crates before, you may think they’re pretty cruel, but most dogs love crates because they feel like a soothing den. The trick is to make sure your dog associates his crate with positive things, like treats.

By the way, if you need a boost of happiness during your workday, go for a walk with your new dog! Spending time with your pet can relieve stress, but so can spending time getting in touch with the great outdoors. Combining these two mental health practices is even more powerful.

Don’t Forget Patience and Compassion

Did you adopt a rescue animal? If so, you should know that it can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months for your new pet to fully settle into a life with you. Seasoned rescuers and pet parents often refer to this as the 3-3-3 rule. Just like with your business, setting reasonable expectations with your furry family member can help mitigate stress.

Now if your new pet is stressing you out so much that it’s hard to focus on your business, it may be time to call in some professional help. There are some basics you can work on with your pet, but you should be able to find local trainers and classes to help with more serious issues. Investing in training can make life as a new pet owner and entrepreneur more enjoyable.

Perhaps most important of all, don’t forget to have compassion. Both for your pet and for yourself. This is a lot to take on all at once and you can totally do it! Even so, it helps to recognize all of your hard work and efforts. Remember to focus on your joy and blessings.

You’ve totally got this! You can run a successful new business and adapt to life with a new pet. Just focus on getting the resources and help you need to make caring for your pet easier. You can start with this guide and then look for other tools to smooth the process.

Nature is Calling: walking in wonder and amazement

Nature is Calling:

Walking in Wonder and Amazement

I wanted to do a little something different for my birthday this year. Our weather was so lovely and the great outdoors was calling. I wanted to get outside and have some fun. Maybe you do too, dear one.

I asked my husband if we could go walking in a park before our family dinner of celebration. He agreed. The park we planned to walk at was closed and under construction. So we changed our plans and found a new place to enjoy ourselves.

We took off to see what this new park and trail system had to offer. It had lots of majestic oak trees in various stages of rebirth following the season of rest.

The oaks closest to the creek were already leafed out. The trees farthest from the creek still looked "dead" according to my hubby. I invited him to look at the trees and see how they were emerging back-to-life at various stages. I was feeling the wonder and magnificence of their cycle of life and its implications in my own life.

I captured this picture of an oak just beginning its re-leafing process. The leaves start as yellow nubs at the furthest tips of the branches. The branches near the center of the tree remain barren.

Life is re-emerging following a season of rest. It is the way of nature.

Taking this walk and feeling the magic of our journey felt amazing. It felt like wonder. It felt profound. The angels urged me to write about it here with you today, dear one.

Are you feeling life emerging for you too, dear heart? If so, what is seeking to be born? Where do you want to place your energy?

If not, enjoy the rest until you are urged to start blooming yourself. It is all perfect and wonderfully timed.

The angels are reminding us to enjoy the blessed gift of nature. It is a wonderland awaiting our attention.

What beauty are you seeing today in your world?

Blessings of love, joy, and peace.

Love,
Janette

Loving Movement : Card of the Week Message - Love Notes from The Divine Inspirational Card Deck

AA Card of the Week (20).jpg

Loving Movement

Welcome to our message of the week for Dec. 28, 2020 – Jan. 2, 2021

“Your beautiful body loves to move. Treat yourself to some loving movement every day. How can you incorporate more motions into your day? The more you move, the more you want to move, the easier it becomes. Physical activity leads to a better sense of emotional and mental wellness; it is so good for you! Be good to you!”

I have been guided to select this message for my theme of 2021. I have been thinking of ways I can incorporate more physical activity into my day. We are meant to be physically active and our body enjoys it so much.

I am so grateful for the ability to move my precious body because I was unable to physically do what I wanted due to the rigors of pancreatic cancer and chemotherapy just last year.

I had prided myself on getting my 10,000 steps a day mostly by walking out in nature or doing an indoor boot camp. During my illness, it was difficult for me just to walk into the next room.

I’m embracing the ability of loving movement from a place of gratitude honoring the gift of my vibrant health and not from a place of “I Should” or “I Need” to do it out of a sense of obligation, loathing, or a strict resolution.

I am so grateful that my health has returned and I can once more do anything I desire and I appreciate that so much. Amen and Hallelujah.

Each day, I enjoy walking in nature and looking for beauty in my midst, counting my blessings and appreciating the ability to move freely once more.

Here are some ways I’m putting more motion into my day:

·       Start the day dancing, stretching, and moving while my coffee is brewing.

·       Raising my arms while I wait for my dog to finish his outdoor duties.

·       Afternoon dance party.

·       Marching in place while I brush my teeth.

·       Going an extra block or two in our daily walks.

·       Trying yoga, tai chi, or energy medicine.

·       Walking after dinner.

Maybe you are being called to put more motion into your days also. I’d love to hear what activities you are doing.

Last year, I was guided to create an annual/monthly reading to help guide my days using my Love Notes from The Divine inspirational card deck and guidance from the angels. This year, they guided me to create an offering for you with customized messages for the year, and each month called “Your Year: Unveiled.” It’s like a roadmap, GPS, or guideposts for the year divinely derived just for you. Find out more HERE. I feel it will bless your heart and life as much as it has mine.

Blessings of love, joy, and peace.

Love,
Janette

Knowledge : Card of the Week Message - Love Notes from The Divine Inspirational Card Deck

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” Card of the Week for Dec, 13-19 2020.

AA Card of the Week (19).jpg

Knowledge

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” message for Dec. 13-19, 2020.

“The wisdom of the ages is pulsing through your veins. You have a Divine inner knowing. You are more amazing than you know.”

We all have a divine inner knowing within. These can be the experiences we have learned from others, our ancestors and the inner wisdom we each hold within. That spark of divine inner wisdom can be felt through your intuition, instincts and imagination.

We have all heard people say the following:

·       I just knew…it was the right or the wrong thing to do.

·       I have a gut feeling about this…

·       I just know in my heart that it’s the right/wrong thing to do…

·       I should have listened to my gut instinct…

·       I feel I’m on the right path.

These are all examples of folks expressing their knowledge or inner wisdom. Pay attention to these sentiments when you think them too, dear heart. We all have the wisdom of the ages in our DNA and are wiser than we can fathom.

When we are in sync with our inner knowing, we flow through life living from our heart space and not in our heads where we often overthink things and flounder.

Remember, dear heart, you are more amazing than you know. Lean into your inner knowledge and inner wisdom: inner healer and watch what happens.

Blessings of love, joy, and peace.
Love,

Janette

Cheerfulness: Card of the Week Message - Love Notes from The Divine Inspirational Card Deck

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” Card of the Week for Dec, 6-12 2020.

AA Card of the Week (4).jpg

Cheerfulness

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” message for Dec. 6-12, 2020.

“Your Inner Light is always there. It is Divinely given. Be of good cheer today and spread a little loving light in your world.”

This message sheds a whole new light on the holiday message to be of good cheer. How can we put more cheerfulness in our lives this year when the world so desperately needs more love and light?

Gratitude can fuel that inner light, that source of cheer. One candle can brighten up the darkness. Its light can be seen from far off. Others benefit from the gift of light, it makes it easier to find things once their eyes get adjusted to the light. Any love and light you can share with the world is a divine gift and an inspiration not only to you, dear heart but to all those that benefit from the gift of your light: your cheer, your cheerfulness. Check out my video of me reading my chapter on Gratitude: The Magical Elixir to Reduce Stress, Worry, and Anxiety in the video below.

The song, “This Little Light of Mine” has been special to me for decades. Do you know this song too? If not, check it out on YouTube. Here’s a great version from Bruce Springsteen, enjoy. When I first heard it as a young child, I knew it was my truth and that I would let my little light shine, and that I wouldn’t hide it under a bushel (even though I forgot about shining my light during my teens.)

Another cool fun fact is that Cheerfulness is my message for the Month of December. When I hear or think about holiday cheer I will remember to shine my cheery self with the world. I will rest when I need to to keep myself in tip-top shape so that I can radiate the divine light within me placed there by the Divine as a gift to me and the world. Won’t you join me? The world needs your big beautiful light especially now.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Being of good cheer is an act of bravery: an act of faith, and a beautiful gift to share with the world. Amen and so it is and so it shall be.

Love,
Janette

Schedule/Timing: Card of the Week Message - Love Notes from The Divine Inspirational Card Deck

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” Card of the Week for Nov. 15-21 2020.

AA Card of the Week (35).jpg

Schedule/Timing

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” message for Nov. 15-21, 2020.

“Your Creator knows you are super busy. Today, what can you eliminate from your schedule to allow time for yourself? Start with five minutes.”

Perhaps, you are like me and like to make lists and schedules and delight in structure. The angels often remind me to lighten up and remember that I am not the one in control.

This message really came through loud and clear early last year. I had just purchased an expensive planner with the intention of putting my nose to the grindstone focusing on my business and getting my message out there. Enjoying planning it all down in vivid detail.

My expensive planner went by the wayside when it was replaced with my oncologist’s calendar two months at a time which notated all kinds of treatments, procedures, labs, and appointments galore. Pancreatic cancer made her presence known.

It is often laughable, how much I think I can control. 2020, has shown us that we have very little control over things. I know the only thing I truly can control is my response.

I love this invitation to see what we can eliminate, reschedule, or postpone. Enjoy the gift of time in self-care of your precious self, dear heart. You can start, one baby step at a time.

Sending you blessings of love, joy, and peace.

Love,

Janette

New Skill: Card of the Week Message - Love Notes from The Divine Inspirational Card Deck

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” Card of the Week for Nov. 8-14 2020.

AA Card of the Week (27).jpg

New Skill

Week 45

Welcome to your “Love Notes from The Divine” message for Nov. 8-14, 2020.

“Your Creator is giving you a gentle nudge to learn something new. What is it you desire to know do or be? You are Divinely protected and inspired to move forward with that desire, dear one.”

Light a candle and spend some time in quiet contemplation, dear heart and ponder just what this invitation to learn a new skill means to you. Allow yourself to daydream about possibilities, dreams and desires that make you giddy with anticipation. What feels delicious to you about this blessed nudge? Know that you are never alone, you have the wisdom and the protection of all of Creation flowing through your veins. You are more capable than you could ever imagine.

Sometimes we allow our sense of perfectionism or needing to be a master at something and close the door on possibility. We are afraid to look silly.

How can you allow yourself the grace to try something new with the knowledge that it is ok to start as a beginner? Just as we all begin to walk by scooting along, crawling, pulling ourselves up again and again without giving up, allow yourself the gift of trying a new opportunity with an open mind.

We didn’t think as we were learning to walk as toddlers…I look silly…I can’t do this…I’ll never be able to walk…what will people think? We knew we were strong, capable and determined. We just kept trying, knowing we could do whatever we put our minds to. We persevered knowing we were developing a new skill that would get us to where we wanted to be.

What new skill is whispering to you, dear heart? The angels are cheering you on. You can do it.

Blessings of love, joy, and peace.

Love,

Janette
