Ignite Your Joy

a four-week journey to ignite your joy and light up your life

Joy is a journey, joy is not a destination. You are on a path of joy, not a path to joy. My dear friend Becky and I were talking about the huge difference these two little words can make when interchanged with each other. The key is to find joy each day where you are: in the present moment. You are meant to live a joy-filled life.

You don’t have to wait until you graduate, finish your studies, have a mate, have a baby, acquire, attain or release anything to enjoy the gift of joy…

Joy is your birthright. You are a precious child of The Divine. It is a gift for you from The Divine, just for being YOU.

In my book series, “On a Path of Joy”, the focus is on finding joy daily using these brief devotionals loosely based on the chakras.

The first in the series is blue in color and as it was the first book I ever created it felt perfect that it was the same color of the fifth chakra: the throat chakra which is the energy center of communication, being visible in the world and speaking your truth. That’s exactly what it felt like to birth this book into the world. I took the cover photo in Carmel, CA one of our favorite places to visit.  It always brings me so much joy to be in that gorgeous setting.

I often include one of my devotionals in my morning practice and regularly share snippets via social media.

Do you have a favorite book or books you regularly read for daily inspiration? If so, pop over to our Facebook group and share.

Another go-to practice is to set a daily intention.

I have been setting intentions formally for a few years now. I am a member of Everyday Living with Intention, a Facebook Group facilitated by my friend Melissa. Intention is such a powerful tool, dear one. Don’t let its simplicity dissuade you of its worth. Here’s a passage from my book “On a Path of Joy”, Vol. One, Day 14, and may it bless your heart.

Setting an intention for the day is setting a course of action for your success by letting you be in control of not only where you go and what you do, but in how you will do it.

You choose it all: your attitude, the way in which you want to present yourself to the world and the way you choose to feel during the day. It’s all up to you.

If we don’t set an intention, we just bob around at the whims of others like a piece of driftwood in the surf. It is empowering to take control of our destiny by setting an intention for the day and focusing upon that intention as we move throughout our day. We can always choose a higher feeling attitude, and we will be so grateful that we did.

Here are a few examples:

Today I choose to radiate love.

Today I choose to be loving with everyone I encounter, even myself.

Today I choose to forgive.

Today I choose to see the best in myself and others.

Today I choose to make wise decisions that benefit me and my family.

Today I choose to rest and rejuvenate.

Today I choose to flow through my day with ease and grace, knowing I am Divinely loved and protected.

Here is this week’s coloring page. I hope you it brings you so much joy. Here are some tips to making your coloring time even more enJOYable:

  • Light a candle and put on some soothing (or fun) music, depending on your mood.

  • Get centered by closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths in and exhaling longer on the exhale.

  • Focus your full attention on the coloring page and let your intuition guide you in choosing the colors.

Click on the above image for a PDF version of the coloring page that you can print out. There is also a copy of it in this week’s workbook.

We’d love it if you’d come to the Facebook Group. Join us here and let us know what JOY you found.
